The Heatable Capsule Collection (HCC) represents a pioneering venture in the realm of smart fashion, initiated by the collaboration between Deutsche Telekom, fashion innovator AlphaTauri and textile innovators Schoeller Textil AG. The collection features garments such as trench coats and commuter jackets equipped with integrated heating technology, controllable via mobile apps. The HCC seamlessly blends style with advanced technology to offer not just warmth but a statement of futuristic fashion.
The Apple Watch Companion App
To further enhance the usability of our Heatable Capsule Collection iOS App, we designed and developed an Apple Watch Companion App from scratch. The primary challenge was to distill the app’s functionality to its essential features, ensuring they align precisely with what users need on their watches. We focused on crafting an interactive design that is instantly comprehensible, striving for the utmost simplicity and user-friendly experience. After numerous iterations—rearranging and decluttering to maximize intuitiveness—we refined the app to its most effective and streamlined form, providing users with maximum comfort and an exceptional experience.

The Heatable Capsule Collection epitomizes the future of fashion with its seamless integration of advanced technology within stylish apparel. This collection pioneers the concept of phygital fashion, merging physical clothing with digital enhancements, thereby transforming traditional garments into responsive, temperature-regulating attire that adapts to both environmental conditions and individual preferences.
Evolution of the Collection
Since its inception in 2020, the HCC has evolved through several versions, each introducing more refined technology and design. The latest, HCC 3.0, has expanded to include more personalized temperature settings and improved aesthetic designs that cater to both men and women. This evolution is marked by the continuous integration of feedback and technological advancements to enhance user experience and garment functionality.
Awards and Recognition
The HCC was honored with the German Innovation Award 2023 by the German Design Council for its innovative use of technology in enhancing customer experience. Looking forward, we are already in the development phase for HCC 4.0, which promises to integrate additional smart features and enhanced user interfaces.
